We make it easy to upload a photo from your phone or computer, choose the right print size and then design the perfect custom frame to fit. We'll then print your photo, handcraft the frame and ship everything to you ready to hang.
To begin, look for the "Get Started" button on our home page, or navigate to our Framed Photos page and click or tap "Select Photo".
What type of image file do I need to frame a photo?
You'll need a digital photo in JPEG, TIFF, PNG or HEIC. Upload the highest-resolution version you have, as a larger file enables more print size options. We can accept files up to 300MB.
If your image is a PDF or another format, let us know via chat or send us the file so that we can convert it into the proper format. And if your photo won't upload or the resolution is too low, see Issues with your image file.
Already have the photo printed out and just need the frame? Customize a frame to fit it's exact dimensions here.
How do I upload my photo?
Go to the Framed Photos page.

How do I choose a print size for my photo?
You fill first choose a size from the Select Print Size menu. The sizes in the menu are the ones that will print in high quality, based on your photo's resolution. A green check mark next to Resolution means your photo will print well at the size you've selected.
Note that the print size is the size of your photo, not the final frame. The finished frame will be larger once the frame and any mat are added. You can always check the full Outer Dimensions of your frame, which we display just below the Finalize button.
To get a sense of how different frame sizes would translate to your wall, select the Guide icon which opens up a helpful chart:
For more on sizes, aspect ratios and custom sizes, see Recommended Print Sizes.

Right below the print size menu, you can select More Options (+) to reveal additional ways to customize your framed photo.

How do I choose a frame for my photo?
Underneath Customize Your Frame, you wiIl see swatches for the available frame profiles we offer. The profiles's name and a short description appear below the swatches, and the preview updates to show it.
Next to the frame name, the face width menu lets you choose a thinner or wider frame. The widths offered depend on the frame.

To compare every style, see The frame styles we offer.
How do I add a mat to my photo?
A mat is the border between your photo and the frame. It gives the photo breathing room and draws the eye in.
To add or adjust the mat width on your frame:
Drag the Mat slider to set the mat width, from no mat up to 6″.
Or select the lightning-bolt button next to the slider to set a balanced frame and mat width for your print size. This is our Golden Ratio button.
You can also choose a Mat Color: white or black. More colors are in Advanced Options.
The mat will overlap your photo by about 1/8" to hold it in place. For more on choosing a mat, see Mats.
Are there any additional options I can select?
You can click or tap on Advanced Options (+) (which is right below the frame price) to:
Make This a Personalized Frame with Text Below Your Photo: add a second mat opening for names, dates or a quote. See Personalize a Framed Photo or Collage.
Select Additional Mat Plys & Colors: choose more colors and thicker 8-ply mats.
Advanced Mat Widths: set the individual mat widths separately. For example, input 1.5" of matting on the Left, Top and Right border, with 2.5" on the Bottom border to achieve a bottom-weighted look.
Float Mounting: choose a Sandwich or an Elevated float. For more see Float Mounting.
Can I preview my framed photo before ordering?
Our frame builder updates the preview every time you change a print size, the frame style or the mat width. Next to the Advanced Options (+), you will see two buttons which allow you to:
View in Room: see your framed photo on a wall to asses the size and overall look.
Share: send a link to your frame to a friend, family member or our design team to get a second opinion.
What type of glass or acrylic should I choose for my framed photo?
We use framers-grade acrylic (instead of glass) to protect your photo. It's lightweight, shatter-prof, high in optical clarity, and does not transfer moisture to works on paper.
Once you've settled on the print size, frame and mat style, hit Finalize (the blue button with the price).
A modal will pop up that helps you Select a Glaze, explaining the following options for the acrylic: Standard, UV Protection, Non-Glare UV or Optium Museum.
Once you've made your selection, Add To Cart and head to the next screen where you can review the order and checkout, or add add more frames.
Standard acrylic is a fine choice when fading or reflections from surrounding light sources are not concerns. For a photo that will hang in a sunny spot, consider the Non-Glare UV or the Optium Museum. You compare all four of our acrylic options HERE.
Can I save my framed photo design and finish it later?
Yes. Add your framed photo to your cart, then select Save Frames for Later on the cart page.
What sizes can I order a framed photo in?
Print size options for a framed photo depend on your photo's resolution: the higher the resolution, the larger the sizes offered. Framed photos can be printed up to 36″ × 48″. To get a size that isn't listed, use Enter a Custom Print Size in More Options, or boost the resolution with AI Enhance.
For a photo larger than 36″ × 48″, chat with us.

Delivery times can change during the holidays. For current lead times and expedited options, see Shipping ETAs & Order Updates.

Hanging hardware is already attached, so all you need is a hammer. See Hanging Your Picture Frame.
